Genetic Markers
Amazement maybe best describes Genetic Markers. Our
goal is simple; we want to grow your knowledge about your family tree. Our service includes additional proof through
Genetic Marker (DNA) testing or lineage identification. We offer two types of testing currently, Paternal and Maternal.
Paternal Lineage Testing focuses on
Y-chromosomes found in primary (father’s side) branch side of the family tree. Because the genetic material of
the Y-chromosomes is virtually unchanged the resulting lineage information can be traced back dozen of generations
providing you with a window into ancient migrations of the members of your family tree. This test will provide proof of Genetic
Related Markers. Simple, DNA Genetic Related Markers prove you are directly related to a specific group of members within
your family tree. This service is only offered to males, but if you wish you may ask a male member to participate in
the testing. We ask if you do so they sign a release of the results.
Maternal Lineage Testing focuses on
the secondary (mother’s side) branch side of the family tree. This test will demonstrate that you are genetically
related to a geographic area. The results will only confirm that you were relatives thousands of years ago and should
not be used to validate DNA related Genetic Markers.
Testing is painless, simply swab inside of your cheek with
a testing kit that we provide and return for us for testing. Results may take up to thirty days depending on our work-flow
within the lab. Once testing is completed we will notify you by email. Results will NOT be email to you until you notify
us through email confirmation. Once we receive your confirmation we will transmit a secured email (PDF file with password)
to you with explanation of the results. Should you want to discuss the results with us you will be required to provide
the password to us. All DNA results are confidential and will not be distributed to any medical group or government
agency without your release. Your results will include a prediction of what haplogroup (geographic ancestral group) you
belong to along with your test results. These results will not defiantly confirm which ethnicity or tribe from which
you descend from. You are not required to purchase any other service from us to have service provided.
Our testing is offered through Affiliated Group Lab.
Our Paternal Lineage Testing services offers either 33 or 46 marker identification. The Maternal Lineage Testing identifies
haplogroup only. We have listed below our pricing structure.
